Under 8s Day

23/05/2013

This year our friends at Bunker’s Hill State School hosted Under 8’s Day.

Despite a very icy day, the excitement levels were extremely high as we jumped into our cars and made the short trip to our neighbouring school.  Upon arrival, we made our way over to their huge multi-purpose building.  Our teachers were very pleased to see that we were undercover and that we had some protection from the cold winds.

Wellcamp’s contributions to the day were the very pretty “Bubble Blowing” as well as Mrs Cahill’s “Dance” station.

It wasn’t long before the day began with some favourite songs from ”Owie” a local entertainer.  Throughout the songs, we could see Bubbles the clown encouraging us to dance and sing.  What a great start to the day!

Soon it was time to check out the activities and make our own choice of which ones to undertake.  We were thrilled with this because it is not very often we have a chance to do exactly what we want.  There were so many exciting activities to choose from it was difficult to make a decision.  Very soon there were beautiful bubbles floating over our heads and many of us played soccer on the tennis court to use up some of our energy.  Once that was done, we visited Mrs Cahill who danced all day.  Many of our Mum’s were impressed with Mrs Cahill’s stamina.  With our dancing done, we had to choose from a variety of activities including dot painting, pasta threading rice play and the very popular face painting.

The meals provided by the Bunker’s Hill P & C were delicious and finished the day perfectly.

We loved Under 8’s Day and look forward to next year when it is probably Wellcamp’s turn to be the host.
