Friday the 24th of
April was a very special and memorable occasion for the students and staff at
Wellcamp. We conducted an ANZAC remembrance ceremony to celebrate 100 years
since the landing of Gallipoli. Students took part in the singing of the
platinum hit ‘Spirit of the ANZAC’s’ along with laying wreaths and having ANZAC
biscuits and cordial at the completion of the ceremony. It was very touching to
see so many supportive parents attend our very special ceremony.
During the week were
very fortunate to learn of direct descendants of our students who fought
bravely in WW1 with displays of medals and telegrams. It was great to hear so
many students attending dawn services over the area and ANZAC day parades. Much
of what we enjoy in our lives today was made possible by the men and women who
fought to defend our country in the past.
Lest we forget.
